Andrew Oravec , M.Ed. in Exercise Physiology, ACSM
I was born in Akron, OH and have called northeast OH my home ever since. Upon graduating from Lake High School in 2009, I attended Walsh University for three semesters to continue my football career. I ended up finishing my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from the University of Akron in 2015 and continuing onto receiving a Masters in Exercise Physiology in 2016.
Prior to beginning at Physio Balance & Sports Performance, I gained experience in cardiac rehabilitation at Mercy Hospital aiding patients in their recovery process after undergoing a cardiac event. My most recent experience included personal training a variety of patients at Summa Wellness Center, performing health assessments, and teaching group exercise classes. My most rewarding experience yet has been working with special needs patients, and those undergoing cancer treatments — as my passion lies in impacting others and helping them reach their goals.
Outside of work, I like to train my physical and mental endurance. Over the last few years, I have completed several half marathons and two Ironman 70.3 races. My main goal for 2020 is to test my limits and finish an Ironman 140.6. I enjoy spending time with my family, and especially love being an uncle to five beautiful nieces & nephews. If I’m not rooting for my favorite sports teams (Steelers, Penguins, and Indians) then I can likely be found outdoors. Among my favorite activities are hiking, golfing in the summer, and deer hunting in the fall.
